This shot was taken a while after sunset in the California summer. I love the simple focus on the color gradient of the sky. I took it through the leaves of the African Iris (also known as the Fortnight Lily) to give some interest to the dark foreground.

This thistle was growing all by itself in the middle of the dry grasses on Estero Bluffs in Cayucos. It's green and pink in contrast to the brown grasses caught my eye. It's a little bit different perspective on the coastline in the background.
